How old is your oldest UFO?

I don't think this counts, but my mother brought me a quilt she started in 1962. She wants me to see if I can finish it for her, we'll see.

I am gonna guess and say my oldest is about 1-1/2 years and the youngest is about 3 months....I have only been a quilter for 3 years and already have 4 ufo's. But 3 of them are not my fault....DD wanted quilts for kids, said she would pay for everything....tops all done, now waiting on her $$ to let LA.

if you count the first quilt i ever attempted, then 42 years :lol:
but i wasn't really a quilter then. of my quilting life, i have one 4 yrs old and one 6 yrs old. they are just for me, so quilts for others have just pushed them to the bottom of the list :lol: :lol:

Well, I started a GFG when I was expecting DD1. She was 27 in Feb and it is still not finished LOL. After that I didn't do anything quilty for many years and only got back to it about 5 years ago.
Then I discovered rotary cutting and a whole new world opened up. Don't know if that UFO will ever get finished.

I finished up 4 of my oldest ones the beginning of this year. When I was looking for something last week I discovered two more that are about 12 years old. Immediately stopped production on a D9p I was working on that is sort of sad looking in comparison to many I've seen. I couldn't continue on the D9p until I completely finished my 2 UFo's.

I haven't counted my UFO's ..I am afraid to . I do know the oldest one a Dresden Plate was started by my grandmother in the 30's (pieces cut, and handsewn) found it's way to my mother when my grandmother could no longer do hand work.Mother worked on it (plates appliqued to muslin squares) as a widowed mom working and rearing 3 youngsters. Then on to me when she moved to an assisted living unit. I have done the blanket stitch around the plates, just need to set it together and quilt it. Total years in the making..about 70 to date. I hope my daughter will help a bit making it a 4 generation event. In addition to age it has quite a travel history, started in (Grandmother)N.C. on to (Mother)in Maryland and now in Missouri with me.

I started a quilt with my Grandmother on her treadle machine, when I was either 8 or 9. I have the quilt top in my trunk and look at it and smile thinking of the days when I learned to quilt. :D That was about 52 years ago :!: :!:
