I love the floating 4p. the whole thing is totally adorable. darling elephants!

Oh, and if you give him little coordinating bean-bags, he can play tossing tic-tac-toe with it when he's older.

I would stitch in the ditch everywhere then cross hatch the background of the elephant blocks, do a simple cable in the sashings and do charm tacks (Quiltmaker magazine term) in the cornerstones.

I'd also stitch diagonally through the 4-patch blocks in the border. Since this is going to a child and will be used and washed a lot, it will need a moderate amount of quilting to hold together over time.

    Cute design--he will love it!

Such a cute quilt! I really like the little four patches around the edges.

Maybe SITD the blocks, microstiple around the elephants & echo quilt the squares in the border. But that's just what I'd do. So, so adorable! Can I ask where you got the design for the elephant applique?

I would SITD and then do a stipple in the white areas. Lori Kennedy at http://www.theinboxjaunt.com/ did a leaf motif that might look cute in the sashing for this weeks Tuesday Tutorial.

tried to do a link but not working for some reason today.

i would do a `/4 in quilting around each animal. would make them pop out. then maybe just some cross stitching. it is so cute u do not need a lot of quilting on it

You made an absolutely adorable quilt. I would SITD and depending on how comfortable you are with FMQ I think the circles would be cute for the background making it look like the elephant is blowing bubbles from his trunk.
