    Mamagus,
Had to laugh. My husband worked in Hamilton, Ontario and as soon as I read your post and saw how you spelled "colour" I knew you were most likely from Canada. I miss Canada as we are now back in the US.
    Have a great day.

Lets try an old "remedy"....soak the material in salt water!

Did you get the fabric to stop bleeding?

My DD brought a pair of pants (tie-dyed) home from Equador. We put those in a salt bath (dissolved the salt in water, the n added the pants when the water had cooled.) I left it to sit for at least 24 hours. The pants get washed with her other laundry, and do not bleed.

For my quilting fabric, I use retayne.

    So, were you successful?

I agree with Nursie76 - I've used Retayne with great success. Give it a try.

I bought some Moda burgundy Marble a few years ago and never stopped bleeding, even with retayne! I took it back to the store without a receipt I told them I just wanted to replace the yardarge. They were fine with that. I was so disappointed..and frustrated with the time I lost trying to get it to stop bleeding...but glad I tested first.
Sometimes we just get bad dyes.

I would take it back to the store and ask for a refund, it is probably defective and ask them if they had other complaints, I'm sure they can get a credit back from manufacturer/supplier

I need to use this fabric to make a flag quilt for a soldier who is coming home from Iraq later this summer. I tried adding white vinegar to the last two loads, but it is still bleeding. Is there a remedy for this? I apologize if someone has asked this question before...I am sure it has already been discussed.
    Thanks a bunch.

Do try the Retayne, but don't be married to the idea that that is the only fabric you will use. If it still bleeds you have to cut your losses and return it.
