Oh man I just did that as well. I actually had to add a piece even though the backing was more than enough. So can I join our clob?lol

Don't feel bad I did the same thing.. after I had the quilt pinned almost all the way I noticed that the backing was the wrong way and not enough material..I felt like a big dummy..But had to unpin it and do it the right way..Think twice do the job once.. Oh well.. lesson learned..

    Been there!!
It's happened a few times even.
Especially if I'm trying to make a smallish piece of fabric "work".
Usually, I end up being 1/2 or 1" short along the final bit of one edge.
So, I have become the self appointed "Queen" of fudging it. I just add a strip onto the backing, trim and press the seam well, and quilt over it. Most of my backings are patterned fabric and unless you look for it, you don't see it.

You should see the interesting backs on some of my quilts!!!!! They are very interesting, but, I have learned something from each of those mistakes

Hmmmm; as we are not perfect; we are allowed a mistake occasionally. I am glad you could rescue the project. I was trimming the quilt sandwich in preperation for binding when I accidently cut into the backing. Luckily it wasn't a big cut and I was able to mend it...stuff like this happens :)

It is wierd, but I got sheets that are cut so crooked that they don't fit on the bed right! They eventually went into the same kind of projects...
Geeze....ya can't take anything for granted these days!
