You might want to check your library, LQS, or book store for books on landscape quilting. You could also do a web search for tutorials or videos. There are many techniques out there. The first one that came to my mind was fusible web, but that's just me.

It depends on if you want to piece the 2 fabrics together or needle turn or fusible applique them.

There are quite a few youtube videos that might help you. It's kind of hard to describe something in a posting here. Look through this google search and watch a few and hopefully get the idea. https://www.google.ca/search?q=lands...N43YoASe64HwAQ

I'm working on a scenic quilt in my mind (mostly what size. The blocks are designed). I will take the photos I took of the objects I wish to applique and cut them as applique with my Silhouette. I will just find some gradient sky and land fabric and applique those together.

You can lay the fabric edges over lapping each other (right sides together) and cut a gentle curving across the two fabrics then sew together.

I made a landscape wall hanging several years ago. The sky and mountains were just fused together then the mountains were covered with trees and plants (I used silk petals and eye-lash yarn to look like leaves and grass.)

Alleyoop1, very clever with eye lash yarn.

Can remember the exact name but "man quilts" does a curved line quilt block on YouTube which would probably give you the effect you are looking for.

Nancy Zeiman has several videos on her site doing landscape quilts that should make it easier for you.
