Question How to Transfer Coloring Book Page Onto Muslin?

Hope someone can help me with this:

I found an image from a coloring book that I want to use as a red work pattern. What product do I use to transfer the image to muslin? I have tried dressmaker's carbon but it rubs off. Is there a product that is permanent? (I don't want to use photo transfer as I only have a laser printer, no ink jet printer.) I have made 6 other red work blocks using the muslin, but they used iron-on transfers.

    Ideas? Thanks!

I would use a light box and trace the design onto the muslin using a blue water soluble marking pen like this one:
    https://www.amazon.com/Wrights-88230...dp/B003WMI6JA/

You do need to soak in water to remove the blue later on, so you would want to make sure that your red thread is not going to bleed.

Is this a water soluble product? Can you show us what you are referring to exactly. Whatever you choose, please test it on a piece of your muslin sandwiched with your backing.

You can usually find these pens with the embroidery supplies in craft stores.

try the Frixon pens. try it on a sample first. it worked great for me. you iron after you're done and the lines disappear.

One way would be to scan the coloring page design, save the scan (even edit it to whatever size you need) and print it on muslin fabric sheet(s).
