    Default How to use Pantographs

Just got my Juki 2000 & Grace Pinnancle Frame. Now need to learn (via You Tube & QB) to use it. I start at the l eft & work to the right. When I reach the end can I start at the left & work to the right. Right now I tie off & move back to the left side. Just don't know if theres a rule.

I believe that it depends on the pattern that you are using.

i have a juki on a hinterberg frame. i sew from the left to the right. it is not incorrect to sew back in the other direction, but i'm not coordinated enough to do it. some machines don't like to sew long distances in the opposite direction, but i didn't have a problem with the juki when i tried it.

I also have a short arm on a frame.
My problem is how do you stabelize the sides of your quilt so the needle dosnt ball up the fabric when you sew off the side.
With a long arm you sew down the sides but with a 9 in that just dosnt give you enough area to make it worth the hassel.
I tried pantos but not being able to see where I am sewing did not work for me.
Takes so much time and effort walking around the table to do anything that I am getting frustrated. I have to pull my machine to the end of the table just to pull the bobbin thread up since you have to be able to hold the thread as you pull up the bobbin thread. Then running out of bobbin thread constantly is a big problem with pantos since you cant see where you are sewing. Wish I had never invested in a short arm on a long arm table.
