Thanks, everyone, for your input! It's been really helpful, and I'll give her this information! This board is great!

Oxyclean. I had a 40 year old quilt that was full of aging stains. I soak it in Oxyclean and the results were unbelievable. The same thing with some very old handmade crochet tablecloths. Full of brown stains. It took a couple of soakings but the results were outstanding. I never thought I could get those stains out.

I know this thread is a couple of months old and hopefully the OP got the issue solved. I just wanted to comment on the Quilters Dream wool batting. I've used it in a few quilts and it washes beautifully, even in hot water.

I'm not recommending that, but my son threw the quilt that I made for him in the washer on a regular wash cycle with hot water and dried the daylights out of it in a hot dryer. It came out beautiful! And just FYI, I did give him washing instructions when I gave it to him, but who listens to mom?!

I've also washed quilts with QD wool batting on a regular cycle (but warm wash, cold rinse) and dried them in a warm dryer with no problems at all.

I don't know about other wool battings, but wanted to say that if you use Quilters Dream, you don't have to feel like you have to baby it or you'll ruin the quilt.

I wonder if Retro clean would work as it is used to restore yellowed antique lace and linens.
