    I’ve made a few of Carols patterns, they were all appliqué. I love her work. Start with paper & draw a design ( like the first picture of twisty ribbon then I retrace another one keeping one as the Master and the second to cut up. Cut apart all the pieces, I add 1/4”-1/2” around each piece that way I can trim or have enough to place under a piece....

    Now that I've gone back and looked at the second quilt I posted, I can see that of course it is paper pieced! How else could she have done it? I would never have thought of paper piecing such a big piece.

    PS...and, of course this artist makes her own hand-dyed fabrics so that makes it even more spectacular.
