Default How would you quilt this?

I'm unsure how I should quilt this wall hanging, what with all the colours and angles in the design. Any ideas, please, both for pattern and thread colours? Nothing too complicated!

i would use a multi-colored bright variegated thread and a 'straight line stipple'.... zip over for a foot, take a quick point over to a 6" line, cross one for 4", do another foot at a another angle...just zip here there and yon letting the lines go out onto the dark border, where they would look great, just keep them all straight and your points sharp and it will look like it was designed expressly for this multi-colored, crooked angled strip quilt....which it would be.

I would use a multicolored thread of since a wall hanging even an invisable thread in a stipple pattern.

I think deemail totally nailed this one - great idea! All I could think of was the variegated thread.

A stipple would work. If you don't want the work, use a bat that takes minimal quilting, such as Thermore and stitch the block edges SitD. I would then do something more in the borders, maybe a wave or leaf.

I think I would do a 'dwirl'. The name comes from Thepajamaquilter. It looks like a topographical map and is VERY fun and easy to do. Here is a picture of a quilt that used it. Practice on a white board before you try it on your quilt. Don't put your elbow or wrist down..you are teaching your shoulder!

I would use different colors of thread in each area depending on whether I wanted the design to blend in or stand out. I would zip over to daystyledesigns web sight and do one of her freemotion quilting designs in each area, so each area is different design. It would be good practice and alittle on the wild side and even if it is not perfection, you just hang it alittle higher on the wall, no one will notice

Thankyou all for these ideas - lots to work on, and I'm going to play on a practice piece. I particularly like the suggestion of hanging it higher on the wall when I've attempted to quilt it - probably a good approach for all my quilting efforts! I just take my glasses off before looking at my quilts - improves them no end!

I would use black thread and do all over swirls or curls to break up all of the straight lines and angles. It's sure pretty!

I would use a varigated thread and do an overall swirl pattern in different sizes. Or if you like feathers use black thread and curve them throughout.
