When it comes to the actual quilting I generally stitch in the ditch. I thought about a large stipple on this since the quilt is for me & I need stipple practice. Maybe I would do a little "do-dah" in each corner & down the outside border but for the overall quilt I'm really at a loss of what to do. The actual quilting part of a quilt is not easy for me so I would like a few suggestions.

I like that quilt.

I do my FMQ like a large stipple. I quilt in rows or like a 7" square or so.

I have this pattern and haven't made it yet. I think that it would be a good pattern to practise your stippling on. I say "Go for it"!

Oh my, I think I could do those beautiful leaves only in my dreams! I love Angela Waters & would love to be able to FMQ just a tiny bit as good as her.
Thanks for all the input. I'm leaning toward the stippling but I'll keep it up on my design wall for a few days to think about it.

For that pattern, stitch in the ditch would look nice. Also straight line stitching on the vertical lines like in a modern quilt would look good too. I would want the piecing to shine rather then the quilting.

what about doing continous curves --a gentle curve from corner to corner--I'd go diagonal across the interlocked squares. those are pretty easy to do with just a walking foot (not FMQ) and then the edges maybe a meander around the points. Neat quilt!

I like your idea of doing the stipple design to add texture to your quilt in a neutral thread color so that the piecing is the star of the show.
