Remind DH the machine is cheaper all-around than a teenager and it doesn't talk back or use the phone or text. And.. you don't have to wait thirty years for it to give back what you put into it.

So of course you want it and he knows it or he wouldn't tease you so.

Pam G I wish I had thought about that. Our two youngest sons moved just two blocks from home & they have a great apartment for a sewing area. I wouldn't have to worry about going home to cook since my one son is a chef & he loves to cook.

Can you rent the apartment for your sewing and see the family at meal-time??
I wouldn't come back at meal times unless they cooked!!
Now THAT is a solution I might be able to get behind! I'll have to give that one some serious thought!

I have a 1907 Singer treadle (great- grandmother's) and recently received a Singer 15-88 treadle, circa 1950's, from my boss' mother, both with cabinets. Now a friend offered me a 1926 White treadle and I turned her down thinking enuf is enuf and I don't have a place to put it. In telling my DH about it, his response was, "you should have taken it. We would have found room." My jaw bounced on the floor....just when I think I have him figured out, he changes the rules again!

    1. put a note on the front door "Moved,no forwarding address" or
    2. get rid of the bed, before she gets home, and have the old/New sewing machine set up in there! ROFL!

ok, ok, thats not good..get a blow up mattress for her...;)
