I sometimes buy on-line, but lately when stashing it away - in the proper colour coordinated box - find I've already got some of it and am doubling up.

A very good bit of my stash has come from #1piecemaker. I have several pieces that I now have two of...forgot I had already gotten it before.

It's so nice to know others do it too. I will tell myself to only use fabric from the stash. But it seems that I need something, so go to the store, quilt or block in hand and end up buying more than I need. And sometimes after it is washed I have changed my mind and go back with one of my daughters and pick out something else. And it seems I buy more than I used out of the stash. My friends will use some of my stash, always offering to buy more for me, but I tell them if we don't use it up, then it begins to get overwhelming.

You are telling the truth there! Even if I set out to use my stash, I have to buy something to go with it. It never seems that there is a perfect color to pull it all together. I know you'll use that red one day!
