But it's nice to ask for other people's experiences too. I don't understand why, when someone asks about another's experience with a certain product, they get answers like "you have to decide for yourself". Isn't reading actual user reviews part of researching and deciding for one's self?

I just recently bought some "Glo Tape" to do the same thing. It made my cutting so much faster since I am not preoccupied with getting the ruler lined up. I have even reused a piece once or twice. Works great for a very small investment 3-6$?

I saw these demonstrated at Road 2CA and decided that they were not for me. The demo was really fast and very intense, but you could see that the thickness of the straps forces a rocking motion on the ruler. More possibilities for moving that i cared to deal with. I use clear plastic sheets (static cling like the magic tape for thread) for my 'non-skid'. It works great.
