Husband in need of Help! :D
First, I hope my wife isn't a member here already!
Her 50th birthday is coming up and I was trying to take her to Vegas to gamble (she loves slots) but she didn't seem to enthused with the idea. Then she mentioned a fabric store in KY. This got me to thinking maybe we could do a Road Trip!!! with her to quilt and fabric stores in the Southeast U.S.
It's kind of time sensitive now, I'd like to do this from August 26th thru the 29th.
Hancock's of Paducah would be one of the stops. Driving from Savannah, GA
So, do any of you have Great fabric or quilt (Add Yarn in there too) shops in the southeast US (up to about KY,TN area) that I should chauffeur her too?
Thanks so much!

yes sir a keeper indeed, what a sweetie you are, and you might think of spending a couple of days is Paducah, I could spend more than two days in Hancocks and not see every thing, and the quilt museum is a must, and don't miss the wooden quilt there

Since we don't travel at all I can't advise you on places to go. However, I want to welcome you to the quilting board here & say how very, very thoughtful it is for you to want to make a road trip to take your sweet wife to places that would really, really interest her for her very special 50th birthday.

Backyard Fabrics in Mayfield is a good place to go when you are in the Paducah area. Also Murray Sewing Center in Murray, KY. Both are worth the trip.
If you can make it to Batesville AR, Marshall's Dry Goods is a lot of fun. It's 2.5 hours west of Memphis, TN. Huge store... part retail, part wholesale. Cheap prices and huge variety.
Have a great time and enjoy Paducah!

If you want to travel further afield- The Lancaster- Reading areas of Pennsylvania (Amish country) are always fun & the food is fabulous. Maybe for another B'day or anniversary??? There are also many smaller shops around the Bristol, Pigeon Forge & Knoxville areas of Tenn. Those might be more fun for just a 2-4 day trip though. Other neat shops in Shipshewana, Indiana. More Amish country & on every Wed. 'til labor day they have a very famous huge flea market of all sorts of stuff. Really fun! Good luck & you're a keeper
