    Default Husquvarna Sapphire 875

    Probably didn't spell Husquvarna right...oops. I am wondering, how many of you have the Sapphire 875 ( I know a few) and what you think of them. I replaced my Janome 6600 in April 2022 with the Sapphire 875 and it has been a battle ever since. It chews up fabric, the fabric veers to the right for no apparent reason, the automatic thread cutter doesn't cut the bobbin thread, and the thread jumps off the guide arm constantly. I miss my Accufeed, 1/4" foot with guide, built in walking foot etc. I thought I would get use to this Sapphire 875, but, I am having less and less interest being in my sewing room because the machine drives me crazy. Am I missing something? Is there something I can do to make the fabric stay on course and the thread quit jumping off the guide arm? I'm sure it is a beautiful machine, but, I can't get used to it and unfortunately don't have the funds to replace it.
    I would love any feedback that the board members can give... Maybe I'm just missing the boat.

    I bought one in October and love it. I've made 6 quilt top/backs since then. I will tell you I use the walking foot that has the bar on it. I love that it will cut my thread.

    I did take it back about 2 weeks ago so they could look at it. At times it wouldn't sew or I should say that it didn't stitch. It was the thread. The service guy that looked at it said that the Aurifil (spelling is wrong) is to slick. At times when using the "scissors" it doesn't go back to the "cut" position.

    One thing that they checked before I took it home was the take up arm (I think that is what it is called). The arm that is on the left as you look at the machine. There should be a small black piece on it to hold the thread in place. Apparently some were shipped without it.

    My fabric doesn't get chewed up nor slide off from where I'm sewing.

    Maybe take it back to where you purchased it to have them check it out and give you some tips.

    Sorry you have having trouble. I have the same machine and LOVE it. I know the bobbin cutter stops working when it needs cleaned. The dealer needs to show you how to do this. Your machine needs adjusted so the thread stops jumping out of the hook. When threading, be sure you go between the metal guide and the side wall on that first downstroke when threading. If you don't have a thin metal guide along that edge, have the dealer do a retrofit. Please take it back to the dealer, explain the problems and tell them you want it working correctly. It is a great machine and you should be tickled pink you have one...as soon as the dealer gets the bugs fixed.

    I agree with jacqueck... Take it back and ask for a demo then have them address all your complaints. I have a 870 that I love but have had to take back a couple times due to some of your found complaints. They have always fixed them. I do know that you must keep it clean, and there is an add on to stop the thread from jumping out of hook. The best of luck to you. I am sure when you get the bugs out you will love it....I would buy another if I could afford it but right now my SS just does not warrant it.

    I do not have the sapphire but I have 6 Huskvarna machines and I just love them. I certainly would take your machine to the dealer! You should not be having these problems. I am sure they can get it straightened out so you will be able to enjoy your machine.

    I've had a Viking 6020 since 1969 and I still love it. It is a workhorse and sometimes I wish it would give me a reason to look for a new machine but it never does. When my kids were young I sewed from 8pm until midnight nearly every night when my husband worked nights....everything from sheer undies to snowmobile suits. I can take it apart and clean it so it doesn't even need servicing. I know the new machines do embroidery and probably fix dinner but I just can't give up my old machine. I just love it.

    You said you got it in 2022. LOL:> So, that can't be true:> But, if it's still under warranty take it in. Why are you suffering with a machine that doesn't work properly? I would be driving to my dealer at the first sign of a problem.

    I have the Sapphire 855 and I love it but it is very picky about thread. I can piece with just about any kind but it just won't do machine quilting unless I use a good quality cotton quilting thread. Mine has the built-in pressure sensor so I do not have to use a walking foot and I do not need a 1/4" foot as the machine adjusts to a 1/4" by moving the needle. I would certainly take it back to the dealer as this is not the norm for a Viking.

    Abslolutely right LOL I meant 2011. I have emailed the Quilt Store where I purchased it and am still waiting for a reply. I have tried Aurafil and Connecting Threads thread in it and it still jumps out. As long as I don't go faster than 1 which is snail mode, it seems to stay in place, but, I'm sure that's not normal either. Anyway, I hope to hear from the service guy sometime today and hopefully we can figure something out. I will let you know how I make out.
