Default Husqvarna 18x8 bobbin winder not working

    Hello all,

I have a Husqvarna 18x8 on an Inspira frame with qbot. It hasn't given me many problems in the 5 or so years that I've had it and I get it serviced regularly. It's been sitting for a month or so since work got busy and when I got back to the quilt I have loaded up, I found that the bobbin winder isn't working. Everything else is working great but the winder doesn't spin.

I've tried resetting the machine. I put it in manual mode and it runs the needle but no bobbin winder movement. I'm not sure what else to try and I don't know how to wind a bobbin without it.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

Whew! I got it working. I ran it on manual mode for a while and very gently manually turned the bobbin winder just a little. It started turning on it's own a bit, then I nudged it a bit more. After running it a while, it finally went on it's own. My machine is all oiled, but I'm guessing since it was sitting for a while, something got stuck. Off to finish my quilt!

My friend was told she should always be winding a bobbin on hers - don't know how that would work out though, as it can wind a bobbin faster than she can use it up????
