    Question Husqvarna Platinum 16

I have a chance to buy a floor model Husqvarna Platinum 16 midarm quilt machine. It would include the table and stitch regulator. The price quoted to me was under $5000 CAD (which would be about $4000 USD) If any of you lovely people out there own or have had experience with this machine, I would love your opinions--especially learning curve, ease of use, customer service assistance or any other pros or cons that you might have.

At this point, I am seriously considering asking the dealer if I can come in one day next week and give it a test drive.

I do not have that specific machine (or any mid/long arm for that matter). I do have a Husqvarna Platinum DSM that I adore. It will sew just about anything and in the 7 years I've had the machine have not had a single issue. In fact, it's in for (probably shouldn't admit to this, but) it's first spa treatment in that entire time. I did buy the machine new and paid about $1200 at the time. My friend bought a slightly newer and different model Husqvarna as well. She, too, has had zero problems.

I would certainly go test drive it.

GingerK ... Great find! The Husq Plat 16 is the same as the Sweet 16. So read all the reviews and info about it and you will know why you want it!!!! I haven't spent a lot of time with my S16, but felt good about it fright from the beginning and just wish I could find some of that precious commodity called time! (Hoping for a good spin at it tmro!) Definitely, go to your dealer and give it a good test drive. Let them give you their teaching points and I am sure you will catch on to it fairly quickly.

I have purchased and own many husqvarna sewing machines...and love/loved all of them.....some I have purchased new out box and some floor models.......and I have learned when purchasing floor models...to NOT purchase floor models until the dealer has had it serviced. Floor models have the potential to have many different people using it and doing all kinds of things to it. Example....one floor model I purchased had the tip of a paint brush in it!
