flybreit, I still am not sure exactly what the added piece(s) are and how it all works. Are the photos you posted of your frame and is it an Inspira frame? The link takes me to add on pieces for Imperial or iquilt frames and Tin Lizzie frames. Do either of these work on an Inspira frame? I am really not understanding this whole added set up and how it would work to increase the take up space on the Inspira frame. Any further explanation that you can give would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for posting to this thread!

I am also interested in this "kit" for making more room. I'm not sure I understand how this works. I have the MQ on the Inspira frame. I am loving being able to complete my own quilts. So far I only do stippling or meandering which I am pleased with. I want to try some patterns, but have a need to keep my eye on the fabric and needle instead of a pantograph pattern. Suggestions are much appreciated.

I too purchased this setup from Craigs list. I love it, no problems until recently and I think I may have the encoder that runs along the frame not quite right. Can you possible post a picture of a closeup of exactly how the encoder sits and rolls along the frame? The encoder on the machine carriage seems to be fine. There are a couple of little rubber rings on the encoder and I'm not sure if they should be sitting astride the lip edge or sitting flat inside the lip edge. Thank you so much!!

HI everyone, I am new to posting.. I am in Ontario Canada. I recently bought a Inspira iQuilt Frame it was purchased it in 2014. They never got to use it do to family illness..other than to practice once or twice after setup.. I have never owned a quilting frame prior. Just hand quilting and small ones on my home sewing machine. This came with 4 rails, the speed control ( think that is what its called.. lol mounted on the handle of the machine trolly thing lol) and lazer, its a 10ft frame. I had spoken to a shop in Burlington Ont. that told me I should not have any prob quilting a king size on this frame, as they have 10ft frames in their shop where they do king quilts with no prob... I need to buy a machine for it, but am lost as to what to buy? I only have my older MyExcel 2123 that i use for sewing presently. ANy help would be great. TY

I just bought this set-up (I think) this weekend. It is an aluminum frame with a Grace label on it, so I don't know if it is the Inspira. The machine is the Viking Husqvarna Mega Quilter. I paid $500 for the set; thought it was too good to pass up. The seller had bought it two years ago for $1800 and never got to use it due to health conditions that soon developed.
I have a huge learning curve ahead, but looking forward to it. Like others, this set-up consumes a major part of my sewing room, so first order of business will be to clean out/reorganize and make room to work!! So excited!!!

I just bought a used Megaquilter 8x8 on a Grace frame with a stitch regulator. I have the frame and sewing machine set up and can quilt just fine with the foot pedal (not that it is fun, moving up and down the quilt with my foot in one place!!) but when I hook up the stitch regulator and turn it on, the red/green needle up/needle down lights alternate and the sewing machine refuses to do anything. When I turn off the stitch regulator with it still plugged in, the needle up/needle down button works, but of course I can't sew. What do I need to do to make the Megaquilter not choke with the stitch regulator? The stitch regulator has power and is set at a medium stitch length, right at a white dot near the middle of the speed control. Speed on the Megaquilter set in the middle, as suggested. Thoughts?

don't forget, your encoders need to be cleaned and oiled (I do mine twice a year), and the rubber rings..called "o rings" need to be replaced every few years, depending on how much wear they get, and how dry your room is. You don't need to buy anything special, just take one to any hardware store and they will have them, very, very cheap! Always replace both o rings at the same time.
Also, it's a "thing" with the Tin Lizzies that the encoders are light and don't always make good contact, years ago, there was a video going around where you took a tiny piece of double stick tape and taped a nickel on top of them. I did mine years ago, and it helped a lot. I just posted on my yahoo forum to try and fins that video for another lady..no luck yet, but if I find it, I'll post the link.

My 1st quilt machine was the Viking MegaQuilter 9" but I chose the Grace Pro frame instead of the Inspira. Loved the machine but not the throat space. Once I decided I liked to quilt I moved up to a stretched Juki 98Q 18" and finished off with an Innova 26". I thought by starting out small I could figure out if I even liked to quilt. I did/do. Loved the machine as I never had a stick of problem with the tension, could use any thread I wanted. Of course that doesn't mean your machine will be the same but I wish you the best with it.
