As I was driving from work this afternoon, I was thinking about this thread. It seems that some people "include" a "mistake" to show that they are not perfect. Well, I was thinking that I don't have to do that because it seems that in each one of my quilts the mistakes seems to happen naturally.

That signature quilt is awesome. Relax and get on to another one. If you don't point out your "mistake" either no one will notice or they won't have the audacity to point it out to you.

Back in the old days people always made a mistake of some kind in their quilts, usually it was block and was called a humility block. Whoever you're giving it to will love the work regardless!

The Amish have a saying that only God is perfect. And will make a mistake in their quilts on purpose so as to not be God-like. So you did this on purpose...don't beat your self up on it....it is a craft, I have been making quilts for 40 years, not one of them is perfect....some close...some not even near. But they are made with love and given with love....and that just about covers everything.

It seems that every quilt I make has some sort of "error." I've decided it just makes them unique and there will never be one exactly like it. It's the only way I can live with it because, like most quilters, I want them to be perfect.
