I would name that quilt, "Hugs and Kisses, Everywhichway" and no one would know it wasn't supposed to be that way.

My heart goes out to you. Sounds like a row of signatures is upside down. Can you applique over that row or something? A friend once said, "When you make a mistake make it a glorious one."

This way they can tell where the top of the quilt is.

I usually put a pieced row at the top on the backing. You never have to look for the top when making up the bed. Sure enough, I put one on the side of a quilt by mistake. Much as it bugged me, we used it in the winter for years.

There's really some truth to this statement. I remember learning many years ago that American Indians purposefully made mistakes in their beadwork as 'no one is mistake-free but God'. I'm sure your quilt will be loved a great deal no matter what!![quote=Ramona Byrd]

Tell folks that years ago an old Navaho woman told you that it was unlucky to try to make anything perfect, that each object had to have one imperfection. Most of the time no one but you will be able to find it.

Feeling your pain, you know it's ok not to be perfect, but the feeling remains....

I'm sure it will be OK. I've done this many times over the years, and you know, the person who gets it will love it because YOU did it. If it happens the signatures are upside down, that's OK, just say "its so it can be read from both directions". Please don't beat yourself up over it. It has happened to all of us. Besides if the quilter didn't notice it, maybe no one else will either.

Just went back and read more of the posts and found the photo, it took me quite a while to spot the two rows alike, so don't worry about it. Its a lovely quilt and you should be proud of it.

The receiver probably won't notice it, they'll just be thrilled to have such a personalized quilt with all those signatures. I read here on th board a couple of days ago that tehy deliberatley put a mistake in the quilt so that it wuldn't be perfect - the mistake was not noticeable unless you really were looking for it. I'm sure that will be the case for your quilt - you will be the only one who knows about it.
