All quilts have to have at least one "mistake". Only God makes things perfectly.

After the first couple of times I did this I started taking pictures if them before they are quilted. It is easier to see your mistakes.

As a teacher myself I can laugh at the whole thing. That backward Z can be a point of humor. I know you've seen backward N's, 2's and Z's on marquis. It's just a human thing to make such errors. I was once observed by a supervisor whose only negative remark of my lesson was that I had reversed 2 letters in one of the spelling words on the blackboard. I laughed and said it must have been one of my duh moments when I was trying to do more than one thing at a time. She laughed also and said she had been there herself. So, your Z is fine.

It's beautiful! And I mean that sincerely. Anyone would feel loved to receive that quilt.
The photograph made me think a little of tic tac toe though I know it's kisses and hugs. Neither kisses and hugs or tic tac toe comes in a specific order- it's beautiful and so incredibly thoughtful.

Many old time quilters said there had to be one mistake in a quilt, so they purposly made one. My Grandmother was one of those old timers. So sorry about yours. I know it is
    heartbreaking.

It took me a few to see the mistake. On a bed,no one will probably notice, and if so,its still great!
