No.... I had already added another border which is what made me see the difference.... (black is slimming doncha know???)
Anyway...all fixed now..just a small bit of frustration which I will never remember when I see Dad's face when I present it to him.
It's being quilted now at a freinds place.

Years ago, when I was making my first quilt for my first granddaughter, my wonderful daughter bought me a lesson at a quilt shop, and when I was there I heard the following: "Look! You put it all in backwards - now you have to rip it all out and do it right." "Oh, my gosh, it's all off - you have to rip it out. I TOLD you not to make the stitches so tiny." This was to two very experienced quilters. Ever since then I don't feel stupid when I do something wrong and have to rip out. I just feel like one of the gang.

I call it reverse sewing, and as I do it a lot I'm getting quite fast! If it doesn't ruin your border plan too much, would it not be easier to cut the other side 1/4 inch narrower instead of "frogging" the 1-inch piece??
