Thank you---it is fun to do! I hope you get to make one in the future!

Thanks---if there is a design I do not know what it is other than crazy quilt with embroidery embellishment. I really do not know if there is a way to blow it up or not.

Nothing happens. The all cotton fabric is just softer and doesn't seen to have as much stretch as the poly/cotton. Don't get me wrong but I just couldn't believe I said that to her. First off I was shocked when she tapped my shoulder and asked me if I was a quilter and then wanted advice on fabrics. That was first time anyone ever asked me that in wm and then when I said what I said I walked off thinking have I become a cotton snob. I buy 99% of my fab's at wm.
you just tell it like it is.........right?

Yep same here, that is one reason I don't post pics on here cause I use whatever comes my way.
Well, I am going to post a picture of my first quilt, a crazy quilt and if it offends those who use only the finest most expensive cottons...........oh well. Several of the fabrics used are blends. As a newbie I never even thought it would matter. My daughter who owns this quilt loves it so much that I am proud of it.
Actually, crazy quilts were made with satin, velvet , and lace! Yours is lovely! You should be proud!

I use what I have....some cotton, some poly. I like to use a blend in babies & toddlers blankets & quilts. They get dirtier faster, put on the floor for baby to crawl on, etc., so they are washed more. A blend keeps its colors longer after many washings.

being as a beginner quilter was asking you, I agree with what you said and did. However, since she/he was a beginner you could have expounded and said that she should use what she could afford with the best quality possible and that the first quilts are often not perfect since they are learning tools. I think, being a beginner myself, I have this board, THANK YOU ALL, but she may not have this advantage and be a lonely quilter. Great advice, but as they say in politics, remember your audience. We all do the best with what we have and can afford.

Do you know how much poly/cotton I have but have stopped using?? More than you want to know. And it's all your faults!!! LOL!!

All of the quilts I have made are scrapy, being a newbie at quilting I have not spent much money on any one quilt yet. When I started quilting my mother sent me all of her orphan blocks/material. Even cut my squares for me and mailed them off to me. Was soooooo excieted that I wanted to learn, bought all my tools for the trade.
