Wink I bought myself a present!!!

I've been looking at (and drooling over) feather weight machines for quite a while and finally bought one of my own! She's a Janome Jem Platinum 720 and I got her at a really good price! She has all the basic features of my Janome 4900--speed control, needle up/down, needle threader, stitch length/width control, presser foot extended lift, and the feet for both machines are interchangeable!! Plus her size qualifies as carry on airline luggage!

The sales lady recommended that I keep the box and Styrofoam inserts to use for protection if I was traveling with her.

I could have had the 760 model for $200 more but the only difference was more fancy stitch options. If I needed a fancy stitch, I'd go to my big machine anyway.

I haven't even unpacked her yet. First housework, laundry and vacuuming, THEN I'll have time to play with my new baby uninterrupted!

What fun!! You are being really "good" by doing housework first!! That has to be hard.

Congratulations on you new machine! It's fun to buy presents for yourself. I buy myself presents all the time! I have one of the first Janome Jems. I have never had a problem and it has not been babied at all. The Jems are great little machines.

I LOVE new toys. I got my Brother SQ9000 just about 3 years ago. It killed me to have to read the owner's manual, but it was worth it.

If I really want something I buy it myself. I always get what I want.
