This may be the perfect machine to drop in there because it's not too heavy, and I get the benefit of that GORGEOUS stitch. It is amazing to me that newer machines just don't stitch like these, even the ones that cost thousands of dollars. I am thrilled! :)
you'll need a "cradle" made for the 301 to fit in the cabinet.
they have no hinges on the back. you will love that 301 !
and a fantastic price. it also has drop feed dogs for FMQ.
    best lighting, fastest sewing.
oops--you can find the cradles on ebay for about $30.
Thanks for the tip about Ebay Smitty - My Dad built a custom "cradle" into the cabinet for me already so I'm good to go! :) I already have a modern machine in there now that I use just for free motioning.

That is a good deal. There is a thrift shop by me that has one with a cabinet for $50 that I am thinking about buying.

Thank you all! I'm thrilled with it. I think it has created a monster though because upon looking up information on my new little machine I discovered the Vintage Machine Shop Thread!!! Uh-Oh! Now I think I'm hooked and I need to get more old machines! :)
