Lol* I'm ecstatic. The Husband and I just happened to hit the thrift shop today, something we haven't done in months because he has been in between jobs. I was thrilled to find a little sewing machine for only $10...I didn't even really look at it, I just saw Singer and took it to the register to see if it worked. I knew it was a risk buying it even though it seemed to run, you never know if the timing is off and there was no thread to test it on. Turned out it was half off for today so I bought it, brought it home, and discovered it was a 301a!!! What a thrill! Even more exciting, IT SEWS!!! I'm so happy, I think this machine was meant for me. :)

You lucky devil. I have been sorta searching for a two-tone machine. Well, one will eventually fall into my lap. I swear you are going to love that machine!!

That's incredible! I hope you enjoy it for a long time to come. The next step for the shop was probably (gasp) the dumpster.

I'm so excited over it! Dare I say this, I think I might even like it more than my featherweight. I love my FW for classes and traveling, but I have an old cabinet that my Dad rigged up for me so I could "drop in" any sewing machine and it would just sit in there. This may be the perfect machine to drop in there because it's not too heavy, and I get the benefit of that GORGEOUS stitch. It is amazing to me that newer machines just don't stitch like these, even the ones that cost thousands of dollars. I am thrilled! :)

Oy vey, I'm so glad it didn't end up there!!! I sort of feel like I need to rescue old machines now! ;)
