I usually go late in the evenings to Walmart and it's the older guy from sporting goods that cuts it then. He always does that too as he said he knows it isn't even and it's only fair to be sure we get all we are paying for.

He's actually nicer and more pleasant than the ladies that work in that area.

I think I would want to know her work schedule and always make my visits when she is working. Very nice of her.

It's always nice to get a little extra but if they keep doing that they could lose their job due to theft. When they have their yearly inventory the system will say they have x amount of each fabric they carry. If it's not counted and they have a high shrink you can bet they will look into it. Wal-Mart does concider that theft and they will get fired. 3 inches extra per cut does add up. It also causes prices to go up due to the shrink.

    Just sayin...

It's nice fabric - but you might want to check on the fiber content.
I was thinking the same thing. I bought some years ago for one of my first quilts and didn't know any better. The needle would hit it just wrong and cause it to run like pantyhose almost. Please double-check the fabric content or try a burn test on it.

She realizes that sometimes fabric is not straight on the bolt, so when you go to cut it at home, you don't have a true yard. Smart lady.

Thats what she told me that sometimes its not straight on the bolt and that other cutters may not have cut it straight.
