I also agree. Will not do Wall Mart either. There comes a time when I have to say enough is enough and find a way around these big conglomorons. I shop locally and if I can't afford it, I don't shop.

I have a JoAnne's but I hate going there because of the long waits at the cutting counter and then again at check-out. My WalMart has a great fabric selection sometimes even name brand bolts at very good prices. I'm glad I don't have Hobby Lobby because I would not go there as a way of making my political clout felt. Thankfully I have great LQS and Fabric Depot! aka my little piece of fabric heaven!

I have been to a Hobby Lobby store twice, and twice was twice too many times. Fabric was awful and cheap. I cannot say a good word about the Hobby Lobby fabric department.

You don't say where in Louisiana you are, but I know that Baton Rouge has a great HL. It's been about 5 years since I was there, but it had a great selection of fabrics.

They are remodeling the JoAnn's in Humble, TX, and it's a madhouse. You can't find anything! It feels more like a discount store than a fabric store. I don't plan on going again until the remodel is finished.

Harbour Freight is a fun store to go into. Sign up for their online sales flyers. They have some good buys, and sometimes they have items that are free with coupon if you buy something. They have a wooden workbench with drawers that I continue to drool over. Maybe, one day, if and when we clear out the garage, I will have room for it. Of course, then, I will start my newest interest -- intargia.
