    I checked my Va block and it is a cardinal..... after 1950. But the Hawaii and Alaska are both in the set, too. So for sure it's post 50's. Some of the quilts I've seen have very elaborate blocks with both the birds and the flowers. They are so pretty.

    If Alaska and Hawaii are included, it has to be after 1959. The quilt my grandmother had, had 48 states represented.

    My DGM did one of those quilts in the early 60's when I was young enough to play with dolls on the quilt. I have it today and it is one of my favorite treasures. As with a lot of older quilts, mine is a conservative full size.
