I just can't seem to get all the points to match in pinwheel blocks. What is the secret. Most of them fit, but everytime, I have 2 triangles that match. What is the secret?
As you can probably tell, I am a beginner. Thanks for your help.

There was just a recent thread on this - maybe use the search function?

You need to do very exact piecing so that you have 1/4" between the points and the edge of each part of the block. When you sew it, you need to do an exact 1/4" seam, keeping those points on top of the block and not cut off into the seam. I don't know what you mean by triangles matching? Pictures would help.

All beginners have the same thing happen to them. Just have patience, take your time and you will be amazed how you improve. Don't give up.

Like stitchnripper said, just type pinwheel or pinwheel blocks in the search box up at the top...Click on 'search' first. You will see lots of ideas and probably some good hints for making them, too.

I sew the HST units oversized and trim them down to fit. That seems to help me.

I press all of the seams open on a Pinwheel and it makes a big difference in accuracy.
