Not a real benefit of aging, goofing up, forgetting things, not seeing good without several hundreds watts of light, on and on. So glad you caught it. I try to move slower and try not to goof up, at least not too often.

I was sewing a new-to-me block early this morning - and it was like making it twice with all the seams I had to rip out because I had sewed them together wrong!! Just have to laugh at ourselves and move on.

Yesterday I was making a 9patch and just took my rotary cutter and cut right thru a block! Yuk. Had to take it apart and make another. So goes life.

Isn't that the truth. I was so proud of myself last night for finishing a top for finishing a top for a table runner quicker than I expected to. When I got up this morning I noticed three pieces I had sewn in wrong side up!

I think this is usually don'e if you don't want to wait for it to dry. But if you let it sit out to dry I think you can omit this step, correct me if I'm wrong

I use pins so I've never made the glue basting mistake; but today, I was in a hurry and sewed a right side to a wrong side on a quilt block. I had used tiny stitches and it was a pain to rip out. Plus, I felt so foolish. We all make mistakes; but, hopefully, we learn from them.

No, I've done the same thing. The fact that you caught it early, I did too, saved the day. I sure check everything twice now.

Have you tried spray basting? I use it for small quilts. But prefer the bent pins with covers for most of my quilts. Also have the gadget that you hook and unhook the pins with.
Also love the plastic quilt holder clips that slip over the edge of the table. They are made for cutting tables with the narrow edge.
