I don't heat set - just let it dry overnight.

I do what Toverly does, switch to another type project - right after I check the refrigerator to see if there is anything new in there since the last time I checked.

I say that I've made most of my quilts twice because of all the mistakes and seam ripping! Agree, laugh, take a break, and then get back to it.

Young kids generally blame their mistakes on that 'stupid thing' that didn't work right - we've all seen and heard them do that.

Somehow, I think it is harder to acknowledge mistakes when we are younger, but as we get older we are better
able to accept our mistakes, admit them, deal with them and move on to the next mistake!

That is one of those mistakes that I blame on gremlins - you put it together right, then somehow the gremlins get in there and flip things around. The other day a friend of mine & I were using my embroidery machine, for some reason the bobbin thread kept coming up - it was giving the most interesting effect that we thought it looked cool, so kept going. But it was also frustrating. So later I was working with it and even threatened to push it on to the floor and kick the stuffing out of it, the light bulb came on and I saw I had missed a little hook in the bobbin area I needed to loop around. And you would not believe how well my machine has worked since! Thank heavens I didn't take it to the shop, I would have been so embarrassed.

I started last week on a double diamond pattern, thing did not look right but I had only sewn 20 squares out of 98. Woke up in the middle of the night and realized I had NOT read the pattern all the way thru, thank goodness I only had to take apart 20 squares verses 98 and also thankful only had to take out 4 strips verses 8 then get mad at myself for doing stupid things like NOT paying attention to directions

I'm so glad you found it before you moved on. I can't say I've gone as far as glueing them together before realizing what had happened.. I did have a backing upside down once but fortunately caught it before the glue hit the material. I was like whaaaat? head thump.

Good thing you caught it. Once in a while, I find myself making a mistake and then making it again. That's when I stop for the day and have a Happy Hour!
