I got some bright (gorgeous) batik in the mail today that I bought from a Board member. I open it and am dancing all over the house with it. My DS says "Mom. Really? its material." DGS (5 yr old in my avatar) grabs the end (Let me help you Mimi) and opening it up on the bed says, "NUH UH, Daddy, (stroking it) Its bootifull, I like it, Mimi!"
    My thought is

YEESS!!! I'm gonna have a quilter after all. It just skipped a generation. I am pulling the old Singer out and getting it oiled. Tracking down blunt scissors and some scraps. Gotta catch'em young.:)

I agree, my DGS who is 8 can cut and sew really good. He can keep a 1/4" seam as good as I can, sometimes better. He loves fabric and so does DGD who is 4. I am hoping this summer for them both to make a quilt.

Have fun with your wonderful new fabric. None of my girls sew but my son and DGD love it. Who would have guessed that.

I'm glad that someone else out there can admit that they get giddy when fabric comes in the mail.
