I have the Kodak 3250...I think that's what it is. It has print, scan, and copy ability. The ink is also $9 for the black ink and $27 for color ink. I buy my ink online at Amazon.com. I use 4inkjets as the supplier. You can get multiples of black ink and color ink for less than the Kodak individual ink cartridges. Also, if you get a Staples reward card, like I did, you can recycle those cartridges (doesn't matter according to the Staples I use) for a $2 reward/cartridge. You can recycle ten a month (if you use that many) and with that twenty dollar reward certificate that you get the following month, you can get copy paper!!! Or in my case, since I saved up certificates, I was able to get a $40.00 rebate for a new office chair and bulletin board for the sewing room!!!

If you connect to a phone line for the fax, make SURE the phone line is run through a serge protector. Ask me how I know! Yes, lightning took the fax part out of my new 4 in 1 printer.

Where there is a will there is a way, as they say. Good for you.

I recently bough a printer - KODAK esp5210 (wireless)at Walmart. It has the cheapest ink available, and they are making all their printers with this ink too. This printer scans copies and of course prints. You can get 1 with the fax machine option also if that is something that you need. Just hook up to your phone line. Don't need an additional line either.

Necessity is the mother of invention or way to think outside the box!!! I'll have to remember that the next time one of our printers has a temper tantrum! I have a printer/scanner/fax/copier that used to work fine and all of a sudden it stopped "talking" to anyone or anything. KWYM about fixing costing more than new. I killed a printer by putting freezer paper in the wrong way. Well, in case you didn't know it - freezer paper will glue onto a drum and will not come off for love nor money. Yep, it was cheaper by about $60 to buy the same model printer new than fix the old one. Yep, got a new one (had to cause the one I killed was our HP laser jet 1012 - a real workhorse for a small printer.
