The pictures really don't look that bad. What I would try is to
take and steam iron it. Maybe some of it will come out and it
will look really nice. Just a suggestion. I think it looks good enough for a present. It has been done with so much love.

I know this sounds crazy but I don't do anything with my batting so that I DO get this affect. I love the the wrinkled look in a quilt, makes it looked like it's cozy and been keeping people warm forever. I agree I think she is going to love it!! If she doesn't you can send it my way, I love it ;)

i feel she will love it no matter what because you took the time to make something for her that is a part of you. and the pictures look good it just looks like it has puffs in it and i like that look dont be so hard on it she will love it

You could try re-washing it on a gentle cycle and then gently stretching it back out to shape and air dry it. This sometimes works with sweaters, it may work with your quilt.
I am curious to see what others say.

Difficult to help without seeing it - please post a picture. If it is not too badly damaged, perhaps you could re-shape it by dampening and blocking and/or doing some extra quilting that will stabilise it?
