An amish woman who lives nearby quilted a quilt for me. She got it done in two weeks. After leaving her house, I said to my friend, "you know, I would probably be able to quilt a quilt in 2 weeks too if I didn't have electricity! I waste so much time watching tv and on my computer!!" The amish are so productive. But I sure would hate to give up my modern conveniences, especially my dishwasher! I just need to discipline myself with tv and computer games!!!

...if I had a sugar daddy to support me in a manner to which I'd like to take a try at becoming accustomed to! Oh, yeah, and if I didn't also have to do that silly cooking/cleaning/working thing. i would get TONS more done!!!

Years ago I lived with a roommate and she and I lamented to my mother that we could really use a wife. With both of us working full-time and other commitments we wanted someone to handle housework, manage the checkbook, etc.

Now that I'm older and wiser (ha) a friend of mine and I were lamenting the other day about all the things we could get done if it weren't for our pesky jobs. I realized that I like my jobs and would rather have the time I spend on food (shop/decide what to eat/cook/eat) and hygiene (cleaning me, house, and clothes) to do more fun/rewarding things! But now I don't ask for a wife (I am one!) I wish for a housekeeper ;-)

I have a small Janome (43. bucks from Amazon new) that I keep at work (it is only 5 lbs) under my desk to use on my hour long lunch. I quilt with 3 others from work and anyone can use it to piece etc. It only has 1 speed, but it works great. We use an empty conference room which is great for spreading out fabric to cut (another girl has a mat, ruler, and rotary cutter). It always us to have fun, talk, and get some sewing done. Sometimes it is clothes or costumes for kids or mending etc. It is really nice to layout colors and patterns and ask for others advice.

Boy, wish I had a group like this when I worked. And I'm glad that your employer supports it.

For me, if I didn't HAVE to spend so much time chasing estate sales, yard sales, thrift sales to find special things I didn't know I needed, I would be able to quilt more. Well, maybe I don't HAVE to go to all of these sales but I sure do LOVE to go to them and try to not miss any of them. Got to go, there is an estate sale opening in l5 minutes down the road.
    bye, wish me luck
