I don't like to spray baste...how about anyone else??

I also am allergic to alot of odors and don't spray very often.
If I use it I just give it a quick spray here and there.
still use a few pins to make sure it all stays in place.
I also prefer pins over thread basting.......

I am not a big fan of spray basting. I've only spr basted one queen size quilt . It seened to take 10 x longer then pinning. I had to keep lifting to smooth out. I do find I use spraying for small projects that are sewn pillow case style. Only one layer to spray. Anything bigger just to much trouble.

A tip for those complaining about a sticky mess: You do not have to baste the entire area. Start in the center and stop about a foot from the edges. By the time your quilting reaches that point you will be able to manage it with your hands or use some pins if you must.
Or try just spray basting the backing to the filler. The backing is where I have the most issues with pleating. I can line up the top with what has been spray basted and use very few pins to secure it.
