Welcome to the club! I did exactly the same thing. Thank goodness one of my quilter friends told me to remove it shortly after I purchased it. It would probably still be on there and I'd still be frustrated with it not working well.

Oh, that is so funny. I saw that type of ruler when I was shopping for one but I decided against buying it. LOL!

Why don't they tell us this stuff when we buy the product? This happened to me with a rotating cutting mat. I bought it and tried it but didn't like how hard it was to rotate. One day I flipped it over and found that the center circle on the back had an adhesive little circle on it. I peeled it off and MY!! what a difference. Now I love it! It took me a few years to figure this out, so don't feel all alone in this.

I think that someone should wright a book of "I feel stupid now" stuff that we all have done when quilting. things like using a paturn backwards or leaving the paper backing on rullers. I think that we all would get a kick out of it when we are not able to be quilting on long trips.

I hate to play, "I can top that" but here goes!
Traded in my trusty old Bernina for a new, 730 a few yers ago. Also had to get a new sewing table with the hole special cut for the machine to drop down. I requested a Plexiglas insert so I could see to change the bobbin. What I got was a pretend wood insert and it had gotten scratched with pins as I sewed. After about a year I mentioned the owner of the store about not receiving the Plexiglas insert. He said that he gave it to me himself and it was the one I ordered. (Fortunately he is a good friend.) As I was leaving the store he casually asked me if I had taken the paper off the back....OMG, did I ever feel stupid... And yes, it had brown paper on the top that I had never thought about removing it because it looked like the same wood of the cabinet. Oh well, I can easily see to change the bobbin now through the clear Plexiglas insert!
