I am rarely "blue"....fortunately. But, when I am, it is usually because I am over doing things and taking on way too much. A brisk walk helps...we need to move our bodies. Yes, "comfort" food helps. Chocolate. Or, I just kick back and give myself permission to veg. A few weeks ago, when on a business trip...I was "blue" . Thinking of my mom and missing her. She passed in 09. I stepped out of my car and saw a shiny penny on the parking lot just in sight of my step. I immediately picked it up and smiled. I needed that! Thanks Mom!
Not to make light of "depression" which , IMHO is more than feeling "blue". I have witnessed depression in others and I don't fully grasp how it happens. Feeling "blue" passes fairly quickly...something that is temporary and usually has a reason for occurring. At least that is MY experience. I am blessed. I truly feel bad for others who carry a heavier burden.
