I finally got lucky yesterday
I was informed that one of our very proficient quilters had passed away and all of her fabrics and supplies were going to be sold off.
Some of us had gone and bought fabrics and notions yesterday(cost me about $85.00 yesterday). After all was said and done, I was contacted today to see if I would like to buy the remainder of her stash . I of course said --YES--. So after I got there I ended up filling my car up with fabric and notions of all kinds for $100.
Needless to say I won,t need fabrics for a while. Now I have to resort my entire sewing room to make room for it all. Doing the very very happy dance now.

I only hope that my stash will be put to good use (although I'm doing my best to use it) when I'm gone. I already told my daughters that they better find a good home for my quilting supplies and not just throw everything out. My other alternative is that I'm not going until I can figure out how to take it with me. Seriously, deepest sympathy for the loss of your friend, and I'm sure she would be pleased that her things are going to good use.

So sorry to hear of her passing. But glad her stash will be appreciated. Maybe you could make a lap quilt or wall hanging to gift to her family in her memory, even though you purchased it instead of it being given to you? Enjoy it!!!

I'm sorry that you lost a quilting friend but I'm happy to learn that her family made sure her stash was shared with other quilters. Some families just don't realize the value of a person's stash and just toss everything in the trash.
