I love binding. After all the work of piecing and then hand quilting, getting the quilt off the frame where I can sit comfortably in a chair in the family room with my husband, and hand binding I find very relaxing and rewarding. It the the icing on the cake.

I would love to see the tutorial that worked for you. I struggle with binding some also.

Two things I don't like about this video. It is so last century! LOL I don't take the quilt out of the machine at the corners. Sew into the corner on the diagonal and leave the needle in the fabric on the last stitch in the very corner. Turn and fix your miter. I've learned to "pinch" that fold in the corner until it fits where it is supposed to go. Then lift the needle and move over to the seam line. No cutting of the thread there.
At the end she puts the tail into the "pocket". I used to do that until I found out how to sew those two ends together. You never know which seam on the binding is the last one.

Congratulations on your accomplishment! Sometimes it just takes those instructions that are on our particular wave-length for something to make sense and we have no idea (until we find it) what that wave-length is.

So what were you doing before? All machine binding that you didn't like the look of, so then, what did you try? (before the tutorial)? I'm glad you've got it figured out now. Binding means you are almost done, so there is something about it that I really don't mind at all....
