Oh, I'm under attack by the green-eyed monster of envy! Congratulations. Hope you post some pictures.

This message is for Jeannie: The machine in your picture is not a Featherweight. I think it's probably a 99K. They are often confused in appearance because they are both 3/4 head machines. The 99K is a smaller version of the Singer 66 as I understand it. If you go to check it out, I think you'll find it weighs about 23-28 lbs in the case, compared to the FW which weighs in at about 14 in the case. The 99K is built into the case because there are moving parts underneath that mean it can't sit right on a table. If it's mint and you love it, it's probably worth the money, but I'll bet you can find one for less. Makes a wonderful straight stitch, but not as portable as the FW. If you want the straight best info on this machine, check with Billy (Lostn51) on the Vintage Machines area.

I once had an chance to buy one for $45 but the ladies dd sold it before I got there (so she said). I think what actually happened is she found out she could get more for it than she was asking. It was on craigslist. Before she called me back to tell me it was sold I was starting to feel a bit guilty for paying her so little anyway, knowing it was worth far more than that. That's just me though :).

And, I am not saying that to make anyone else feel bad, just that I felt this lady really did not know what she had. She said she had had the machine since she was a teen, had the book, case, everything and that it was in great condition. Perhaps someone offered her more after I said I was coming to get it...guess I will never know.

One more thing...that is the second time I have almost gotten one and something happens and I don't get it. Maybe I am not supposed to have one??? LOL!!!

My mom has 3 and she doesn't quilt!
