Talking I get to go pick up my Aunts fabric

she passed away a few years ago and my Uncle said his kids have all gone through it and got what they want. He said there are 15 tubs of fabric, my mom and I can have it all. We just have to go to Iowa to pick it up..LOL

So spring break we are driving 2 days to Iowa to pick up fabric. Then we are going to make my Uncles grandkids a lap quilt with the fabric. I can't wait until MARCH.

Sorry your Aunt has died but she would be glad that the fabric won't go to waste. Remover, fabric that you don't think will do for quilting, will make good clothesline bowls. Heavy duty fabrics make great pet beds for the shelters.

Sorry to hear of your Aunt's death. I know she would be pleased that her fabric will be used for more quilts for her family. I was born and raised in Iowa and moved to Indiana from Bend Oregon. Where in Iowa will you be going? Have a safe trip and enjoy your visit!

Have a great trip. If these are very big tubs you're going to need a truck

15 tubs is a lot of fabric! You can't imagine how much until you start sorting through it and trying to figure out where you're going to put it! How do I know? I just bought 11 tubs of fabric and craft stuff off a Craigslist ad.

I've donated almost all of the craft stuff, about 3 tubs worth, and kept most of the fabrics.

My advice is to make sure you have a van to transport it in. Our Dodge Caravan with the foldaway seats was full to the height of ther front seat backs. Also, it might be smart get some measurements of the tubs and figure out if you can fit them in the van. Otherwise, bring lots of the kitchen trash bags so you can kind of smoosh the fabric into the available space.

    Good luck.

I'm sorry for your loss, but you aunt would be thrilled that all that fabric found a good home. Now, how many quilt shops can you hit on the way to Iowa?
