Oh, yes! I was a first grade teacher. Another FG teacher and I had a "stash" of the old series. We'd use them in our reading centers for independent reading. The children loved them. I even had the "big book."A couple years ago, I "stumbled" on the D and J fabrics at the LQS. Bought yardage of each of the four pieces. Made a charity quilt fussy cutting one of the prints(seems like it was the same as your DJ fabric). Alternated blocks with the 4-patch. And used prairie points for the binding. Sorry no pictures, but it was nice, although I need more practice on the PPs.

Now does anyone remember Mac and Muff? ...and Winky?

First of all, your quilt is just precious!

Second...Yes, I remember them! I'm a retired teacher and about 15 years ago a first grade student of mine, who came from a home with limited income, gifted me with an old copy of the exact Dick and Jane book I had grown up on. He seemed embarrassed because the book had ragged edges, and torn pages, but I told him I was thrilled to have such a good memento of my own school days! I kept that book on display for the rest of my teaching days, and had so much fun going back to look at it, and share with my students!

yes i do, i have a collection of their books, and would love to find the fabric for a baby quilt or two. Love what you did with the "bling" for the water droplets.

The quilt is beautiful; the sentiment is even better. Your students are undoubtedly lucky to have you.
