Sounds like a neat idea. I have some long skirts that I wear with high boots (about 10 inches high) to protect my weak ankle. When wearing boots the skirt should be long enough to cover the top of the boots.
A OBW would be neat in denim or muslim or suede, with more or less matching shirts.

I have made 2 square dance dresses using quilt patterns for the skirt. I love it.
