    Default I have a ???.-don-isewman

A wonderful lady friend in this group, sent me some multi-colored 1/2 sq triangles. I made her some 12 1/2" quilt block's in exchange. Anyhow, can someone give me a ideal as to what quilt block pattern to use. There roughly 3" x 3". I just finished 2 quilt tops, but want to start something else, with those 1/2 sq triangles. Sounds like fun, and googling sure brings up lots of possibilities for you to try. https://www.google.ca/search?q=favor...w=1280&bih=854

half square triangle blocks are really fun to play with- you can come up with so many different layouts with them- one time I had a couple hundred of them someone had 'gifted' me...I would grab up about 30 of them and sit at the table laying them out, turning them this way & that way until I came up with a lay out I liked thought would make a fun quilt- I recommend spending some time playing with them- you will come up with something that just strikes you as the way to go in no time. such fun!

I love the look of a classic pinwheel quilt. Hopefully you have some light and dark!

Look at Edyta Sitar's Friendship Triangles book. Most patterns use 1/2 sq triangles and that is all that is in them. So if your 1/2 square triangles aren't exactly the size she uses it won't matter if all yours are the same size. Some are small projects. Some are large.

The exploding star called for small 1/2 sq. triangles . makes a beautiful quilt. Some are dark on dark..... some light on light.... some dark on light. I made mine alittle bigger squares than it called for. I think 3x3
