By leaving the paper in you prevent any bias edges from getting stretched out of shape. I'd wait until you were completely done then make it a night in front of the TV.

I agree... even with the sashings on, these bias edges can stretch just from handling the quilt. I leave them on until I am ready to sandwich the quilt.

I do however, remove little bits here and there if necessary to get them out of the seam lines if they are going to be hidden :D:D:D

if you have already sewn on the sashing, then yes.

it is important to LEAVE the paper on until the blocks are stabilized either by sewing them together, to the sashing, or by stay-stitching around the outside line.
Removing the paper before stabilizing the blocks means they will stretch and if not stitched properly will become UNstitched at the outer edges!

I don't remember exactly, but go to the Joannes website and do a search for it.

Thank you everyone. It makes sense to leave the paper on until your ready to quilt. Many bias pieces in this project. Collective knowledge is wonderful thing!

I removed the paper after completing each block. It is tedious to remove it and didn't want to face removing a whole quilt full at one time.

yes remove after the blks are sewn together, remember nothing is on grain for the fabs are sewn in all directions so the paper helps to keep everything straight...
    Happy PPing

I've never put together a quilt that was totally paper pieced. That is great to learn I should leave the paper on.
