I was going to use the pattern to make a quilt for my daughter who does not even live around here. So, like you all have said the colors would be different etc.

I am going to ask the person one more time and if she does not respond then I will go to plan B and take a picture. Maybe she was over whelmed with the holidays.

Am thinking the exact same thing. I don't get it...I'd be complemented!

She was just being mean and stingy -- quite unlike most quilters who would have gladly told you the name of the pattern, where she got it, where she got her fabric, who quilted it, who she made it for, who quilted it, etc. until you were tired of talking about it...or maybe she was just having a VERY bad day... :D

I consider it an compliment when someone asks for a recipe etc. Just a difference in people I guess.

I love to share my patterns and designs and my quilting technique. I don't believe I've met a quilter that won't share. Like someone else said, maybe she was having a bad day.

Sometimes it is because they don't know and don't want to appear 'dumb'.
Sometimes it is because they feel insecure and this is their power game that they play.
Sometimes it is because they are immature, silly or nasty.
In all cases, I would just shake the dust from my feet and move on - they are not worth wasting time on.

Church lady? Did she have blue hair? (OK I'm over 60 so I can say this: maybe she forgot the name of the pattern and did'nt want to let on she couldn't remember! lol!) I would just whip out a paper and pencil and draw up a little picture of a block and figure it out - or, maybe that's what she did, whipped out a paper and pencil and copied something she saw so she really didn't have a name other than "the borrowed block". share t
