Default I hope I'm not the first one to do this!

Today I have taken some very lovely fabric and made a wonky mess! I am going to try to regroup and salvage "something" from this... I am NOT going to be disappointed, (I am not, not, not), but will consider this a learning experience....

i don't think that there are many of us that have not done that. The main think is to just keep going. Good Luck. BrendaK

When I make a mess of cutting fabric I just keep in mind it's just fabric and I recut to different size or stick in scrap bin and forget it.

When I do that I put it aside for a while. When I get back to it either the problem isn't as bad as I thought or I've come up with a solution to save the project. Got a couple of these simmering on the back burner right now.

So - what did you do?

Whatever it was - it's unlikely that you were the first - or will be the last - to do it.

I do this too. Sometimes someone on here our some other website will have an answer and the light bulb comes on for me. But I know how disappointing it can be and I sure don't like to waste fabric. Of course, I don't waste much because almost anything can be recut to make something else.

Nope, you're not the only one. I'm working on a quilt for my SIL - third and last design. It's made using the old cotton shirts of his two sons (he's very sentimental). Thought I had it finished, started sandwiching and discovered that one side is about 2 inches longer than the other. ARGHHH!

Thank goodness that someone had the good sense to invent seam rippers....
